Lean Manufacturing Tools and Value Stream Mapping


Course Description

This course covers lean manufacturing tools and value stream mapping techniques. This course includes error proofing, continuous flow, leveling, plan-for-every-part, pull systems, continuous improvement, and current and future state value stream mapping. The trainee will be able to:

  • Understand the basics of thirteen important lean tools;

  • Create a basic current state value stream map;

  • Analyze the current state and identify possible improvement opportunities; and

  • Create a future state map.

 

Who should attend the course?

All levels of engineering functions, shop floor supervisors, and operators.

  • Heijunka (Leveling)

  • Error Proofing (Poka Yoke)

  • Quick Changeover

  • PFEP (Plan for Every Part)

  • Kaizen

Session 4 - Value Stream Mapping I

  • Current State

Session 5 - Value Stream Mapping II

  • Future State

Session 6 - Airplane VSM Game
